Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month

Didn't know if you guys knew, but JUNE is Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month!

June is designated as National Fruit and Vegetable Month. According to the American Dietetic Association (ADA), more Americans than ever -- 28 percent -- are adjusting their eating habits to achieve healthier lifestyles.

I'm thinking I need to do some kind of homage. Like... have a piece of fruit every morning and a big salad with lots of veggies for lunch every day.

Oh, wait. I'm supposed to do that already. Oops!

Maybe it's just gonna be a good reminder to do it more. :)

Lucky for me, I actually like fruits and veggies, even raw and plain, and I live near a huge, awesome, CHEAP, year-round Farmer's Market. I spend about $30/week there (this includes some cheese, bread, oil, pancake mix also), and this is about 75% of my weekly food. I've got great tupperwares so that it doesn't rot too quickly, and I generally manage to eat almost all of it. I just ate an ear of corn, now going to eat an orange or two. I think one of the reasons I'm having success with weight loss is because I eat so much produce, there's not so much room for anything else-and the rest is not always what one might think of as "diet food".

I'll definitely support this one!

I sure didn't realize this was fresh fruit and vegetable month. I am happy to read that more people are eating these - I think it is part of what is wrong with diet in the world.
