Boot Camp?

So, my gym offers boot camp classes. Have any of you guys taken these? I haven't. They scare the crap out of me. My super fit, gorgeous, thin, gym-workin', zumba-teachin' soon-to-be Sister in Law took a boot camp class and was sore for like, a week.

I'm just terrified to be yelled at and have to run around a big obstacle course in the pouring rain. Plus, I would have to buy some tactical pants.

Anyone have any experience with a boot camp class? I'd love to hear it.

I'm too much of a wuss and have never tried boot camp but I have plenty of friends who go and love it. So go for it!

Hey, I'm new to your blog and really love it! good job! About boot camp - I haven't taken a gym class boot camp, but i've taken a regular, run-of-the-mill boot camp class (if there is such a thing) and it so wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. we would start with a mile run and then circuit exercises usually using our own body weight or 5-pound weights. it was actually a ton of fun and this class was at 5:30 in the morning! Do it! Do it! :D

There's a boot camp just around the corner from me, but from what I've seen on the website, I reckon you'd have to be rather fit to do that. Give me six months of hard work and I may be ready!

Hmm...just the sound of "boot camp" makes me want to run the other way. But I've known lots of people that have taken them and have seen results. It would definitely up your intensity and stress your body. That means your body will change. Definitely keep us posted if you go for it!

I'd say try it...and if you hate it...dont do it again. They will usually let you atleast see the class once.

I can attest to the fact that there are some pretty out of shape dudes who go to real "boot camp". The challenge there isn't so much the workout (which is hard, dont get me wrong); rather it's the pressure... a lot of people might not work as hard as they could without pushing. Try it out... the great part about a civilian "boot camp" is that you can probably tell the instructor to shove it if he goes too far... which probably isn't likely.

I have not tried one of these, but I have often thought it would work well for me. I don't suspect everyone in the world agrees with that statement though.
