Cookies and Cakes and Pies, Oh My!

Yeah, Christmas, for some reason, tends to be wayyyy more food staring me in the face than Thanksgiving.

I'll back up. I hope you guys had a kick ass Christmas and got to spend some lovely time with your families. :)

So, Dan's family is pretty large, and this year we had 14 people for Christmas Eve morning before I flew out to Denver. All through the kitchen and dining room, this is what I saw:

Wanna know how many cookies I ate? Zero.

This is what I ate instead:

Here are a few photos of me with my family:

Me with my Aunt:

My parents:

My brother and I:

Oh, also? The dress didn't fit. The new dress. So, I ordered another one a size up and I'm begging them to overnight it to me. GRRR!!

Your mom is beautiful, and I want to say your brother is hot, but it somehow feels inappropriately incestuous.

Ok, holy sweets! Good job avoiding them. Your pics are making me salivate!

The family pics are super cute, your necklace is bangin'!

Sorry about the dress. Hopefully you get it in time for New Years! I await additional photos of your hotness! ;)

Cute family. Not even one cookie? Damn that's impressive..although I have to say that I am with you on that. Like the book says 'if you give a mouse (michelle) a cookie...'

Don't worry abt. the dress. you're gonna look hot anyway. Point: look how far you've come.

just send me the chocolate cookies and I will uhhmmm ... safely dispose of them for you... by eating them. It's a sacrifice, but some body has to eat them.

You are a beauty! Happy travels..and good job on avoiding the cookies...and just appreciating how they looked..not how they tasted. You were a stronger woman than I......nice job! :)

Cookies = yum.
Brother = also yum, sorry.
Parents = look like they are 30.
You = willpower of steel. Ditto JewliaGoulia on the necklace.
Impressive! Merry Christmas & HNY!

First of all, kudos to you for forgoing the cookies! Takes major determination there. And second........... ummmmmm....... I feel the need to second what "Mrsfatass" said .... about your brother..... but it does feel slightly weird saying that your bro is kinda hot. Yeeeeaaahhh... I'm going to go now. Happy holidays!

I'm, uber impressed on the no eating cookies thing! I can not do that. Mom brought over cookies and I had just them for dinner! Thankfully when I went to her house for a slumber jam over Christmas, I brought the remaining cookies back and the dog finished them for me.

Your brother is quite good-looking. Is he single?

And you! Damn Gina! (Kudos to those who catch the reference.) You look amazing!

very impressive what you passed up! and the one thing that caught my eye was how young your parents look! Good looking family all together!

I'm sorry about the dress but something tells me you are going to be smokin' hot in the Mode Merr dress (and I've got that site in my favourites too for when I'm ready to order ;-) )

Good for you for resisting temptation. I had four cookies over the whole week. I got drunk with my brother, but BOY, was that necessary, (he's recently been kicked in the butt by love) and I ate potatoes au gratin. Still, I think I did okay.

I'm home now, after traveling on a diet for four out of the last six weeks. Time to renew focus.

You will rock the dress, even at the larger size.

You look so gorgeous, well done you on all the weight you've lost and your determination :)

Holy crap, I can't believe you didn't eat any of those cookies. I had a full-on binge from Christmas Eve 'till Christmas Day. I was like the cookie monster on speed.

Props to you!

I know what you mean...I don't know if I could have resisted whatever kind of yummy goodness was in that second pic. You and your mom look so much alike. Eating those veggies is a good way to get into the new dress that's on the way! You're gonna look fab!

Wow, good job on avoiding temptation. Those photos are just an accident waiting to happen, for me.

Would you please in your next blog tell us HOW you were able to resist temptation? What was your mindset? I recently resisted cookies at a party I attended, but that's because the host was anorexic and I resented that she was trying to make me fat. When was the last time you fell off the wagon - and how did you get back on? You're so unbelieveably inspiring.

Just think about how exciting it will be to chuck that dress in the give-away box! Do I hear a bloggerhood dress edition coming?!

I did not avoid the cookies. But, I did not eat as many this year as I normally do! And, I worked out on Christmas day at the hotel!! YAY!!! So, I feel pretty good about eating the cookies.
Have fun in Denver. What part are you going to? When I was a little MMM, I lived in Aurora. but only for 3 years.
Anyway....have fun!
