Weigh In. BOO!

214. FUCK.

(Mom, sorry, I know you read this, but sometimes you just need to say the F word.)

So, yeah. I'll be weighing in weekly from here on out until I hit 150. (laughs a belly jiggling laugh)... That feels like it's going to take a lifetime. I'd like it to happen before Christmas. All I know is I did the healthy eating, working out three times a week thing for like, 8 months, and I lost only around 15 pounds at the best. Yeah. I'll figure something out.

On a side note, does anyone know the total net calories those Biggest Loser contestants consumed? I mean, they were on a limited calorie diet to begin with, but after spending 384032984093 hours in the gym each week, wouldn't that put them somewhere in the VERY low hundreds to negatives???

And finally, on a totally non-related note, I wanted you all to check out the photos from the last wedding I did - my friend Julia has commented here a few times. Her wedding was July 3rd, and it was really awesome!

Click HERE for the photos. :)

Nice pics. You're quite talented. Kind of makes me want to get divorced so you could do my next wedding. ;)

The gain sucks. Sorry to hear it and bad times. Also, I was almost on the BL on season 3, and sadly, season 4 too. Anyway, at the time the diet was different for each contestant, but roughly 1,000-1,3000 calories each and the diet was extremely high protein/low carb style. And daily workout was 6hours a day. So yea, incredibly unrealistic.

And, if you're interested in taking a weight loss tip from a 600 pound man, today is your lucky day. In all seriousness though, I did recently read that people who have lost even relatively small amounts of weight (as well as people who have lost a lot) and more importantly, kept it off, all shared one significant stat, which was they all worked out at least 1 hour a day 6 days a week.

So again, I clearly haven't done that, but if you're looking for ways to shake up your plan, etc, that appears to be what is a proven game changer, and for the long run too.

Anyway, here's to a better number next week!

post script: love the pix, you're very talented.

I have been in Army training now for something like 11 months, and I have learned a very important lesson by watching the fat-bodies in class with me. You lose the most weight with more regular exercise. I can give you numerous examples of guys dropping over 80 lbs in periods as short as 2.5 months, it is all due to consistent, frequent exercise.

I love the comically bemused look that is, no doubt, dawning on your face even as you read these words. But it is true... 3 times a week does not cut it. At all. you should be working out AT LEAST 6 times a week, even if those workouts are no more than 45 min long. I suggest, for optimal workout results, starting on a 6 a week schedule, and then moving to doing 2 workouts a day at least 3 times a week.

Caloric intake is a big part of it, and you got that down, but you need to step up your stepping up.

Try this:

Run / walk every day for 45 min in the morning. wake up early and knock it out before your morning shower / work routine. Then keep up your cardio / muscle building workouts in the afternoons, at least 3 times a day.

Get at it!

Andrew,

I love you, you're brilliant and ridiculously hot. But I'd rather starve than work out twice a day.

Jenn, there is nothing wrong with 15 pounds. Don't be so hard on yourself. Just keep at it.

Hey Jenny. I sure wish you could find an accountability partner you could go on walks, jogs with. Perhaps Dan's sister since she lives so close, another member of the family or someone at the gym. I know it can make the difference between daddy and I going or not going to the gym just because we have the other one ready at the door.

I love you!!!
