Orlando Honeymoon - Healthy Eating?

Hidy ho, folks!

Well I wanted to interrupt the blog posts about juicing with a very real question.  Dan and I are honeymooning in a few weeks to Florida.  (I've never been.)  We're doing Disney World and probably Epcot.  What I'm curious to hear is:

1.  What are your "don't miss!" recommendations?  (We have four full days to work with.)
2.  What restaurants do you recommend?  (On or OFF park / resort grounds.)
3.  Speaking of restaurants... how, just HOW do I stay healthy in terms of food while I'm out there?  Are there any options for whole foods?  You know, hippie food?  I mean... I am not going through a fifteen day juice fast just to turn around and eat crap food because "oh well, I'm in Orlando."

So!

Those are my questions, and hopefully you can help me!!

xoxo,
~Jenn

I honeymooned almost 10 yrs ago at DW. We did all 4 parks. We spent one whole day at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. 1/2 days at the other two parks. Epcot is by far our fave. We did a whole day of eating there and just shared one food item in each country. That was a lot of fun! I have no idea what to recommend since it's been a while that we went. Last time we were there with the kids and only did Magic Kingdom for one day. Just enjoy your trip!!! DW really is the happiest place on earth! :)

I actually lost weight in Disney just from all the walking because I most certainly was not eating that great. Epcot is going to have lots of dinning options and you may actually be able to look at menus on line for a good bit of the places. I havent been in a few years so I cant really give you any up to date info. Are you planning on getting park hopper tickets? Because you should try and check out more than just the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Animal Kingdom is pretty cool too.

I loved Disney World when I went. Definitely don't miss the fireworks and parades at Magic Kingdom and Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios, SOOO good. There are healthy options but they aren't abundant. The Prime Time Cafe, Chef Mickey and the dinosaur restaurant in Downtown Disney were all really good. Hope you have a fabulous honeymoon!

I would definitely either bring some healthy snacks with you or buy them at a grocery store. My family always gets stuff for breakfast if we have a mini-fridge. Then, at the very least, we have a healthy breakfast. And get the park hopper tickets! So convenient!

I've got a good friend who lives in Winter Park and also does all the whole foods and raw foods type stuff. I can ask her.

I got married and honeymooned in Disney World. I've been every year for the past 6 years, and I was a Disney Travel Agent. Check out allearsnet.com for restaurant menus and TONS of park information. Plan to spend at least an entire day at Epcot (it's huge), but also check out the attractions at each park online. When are you going? The time of year depends on how crowded it will be.
