Holy Bathing Suits Batman!

I'm gonna share some bathing suit stuff, some shopping stuff, and some awesome news stuff.  So be sure to stick around until the end.  It's worth it, seriously! :)

So, the first bathing suit I tried on didn't quite do it for me, so I went back to return it.  Here are a few I tried on:

Here's the one I went with, but the two-piece version:

And the one I ultimately chose, a tankini two-piece:

So yeah!  I'm pretty happy with it.  It's a teensy small on the bottom, but no biggie.  I also wanted to share with you guys a photo of me in my goal bathing suit.  This is pretty open and out there, and I'm not going to apologize for the rolls ahead of time.  It's me, and that's that.

It's one I bought in Chicago several years ago when I was a size 6/8.  I'm pretty close to getting back into it! :)  Maybe it'll fit me properly by May when I go to Cancun:

Also!  I got to hang out at Kohls a little longer and take advantage of the gift card I got for Christmas and their 2-day sale.  Candies had a ton of stuff on sale, and I went beserk!

Cute pants:

The most amazing jacket:

And, this seriously adorable two piece skirt set:

And NOW FOR the finale!

Back on December 4th, I weighed 175 and tried on the size 8 pair of jeans.  Apparently, five or six pounds makes a big difference, 'cause suddenly I can zip and button them.  Seriously... this is nuts!  Now, I definitely shouldn't be wearing them out in public by any stretch yet, but, dammit, they're ON!

Skinny jeans on in 2004:

Fat/before alongside December 4th:

Now:

Now the really weird thing is that... my hips and waist measurements haven't actually changed since December 4th.  Now I'm kind of pissed that I haven't been measuring my butt or my lower waist/gut.  Apparently those things have shrunken... but the waist and hips haven't.  Has that happened to any of you before?  (And I'm not currently exercising...)

Anyhoo!  Kind of another long update, but wanted to share.  :)

You are sofa king beautiful, girl. I looove the blue bathing suit and the gray dress but my fave picture was the one of you and Dan, you guys look soooo happy and in the moment.

I LOVE that jacket. LOVE IT!

I think that cool thing about slimming down is that there are so many ways to measure success w/o the scale. Congrats...you're looking awesome.

I am loving that 2 piece skirt suit - I'd love to look good in something like that one day.

Well done for getting into your skinny jeans - they're looking really good.

Keep up the fantastic work!

You're no ex, you're HOT.
The outfits you tried on are really nice.
I agree with the choice of bathing suit. I like the plaid pants. And especially the orangish thing, which apparently you do too from the look on your face. And that skirt suit is very professional looking.

I won't say anything about you picking your nose in the photo. Maybe no on else will notice.

I had to go back up to a 40 waist jeans. I was wearing a 38 for a while. I had been losing some weight, but it seems only in my butt. My belly is still big. My wife would rather see me lose the belly, but I think it's a man thing to have a belly and no butt. I would like to have it the other way around also.
thanks for your post.

I can't tell you the number of times that clothes will fit me completely differently for just a pound or two when I really don't think the measurments have changed. I'm MUCH shorter than you so 1-2 pounds = 5-6 for you shape wise. You are doing awesome - congrats on the skinny jeans and I can't wait for a picture of you dressed in them on your way out on the town with your guy in tow! :-)

You look amazing. I LOVE those check trousers. But even more than that, I love that you are so open. I'm so embarrassed by my body, I could weep, but you make me realise that so much of it is attitude. You may not be exactly where you want to be (although, you look great to me) but you rock those bathing suits for us all to admire. Thank you. You inspire me to have more confidence.

Great choice of swimsuit!!! The cut and the color are much more flattering to you. You have a good booty so I wouldn't worry about the bottoms being a bit small.

You're so inspirational! I am mortified at the thought of bathing suit shopping this year! I am truely proud of you and the hard work you're doing which obviously is paying off. Any yes, I've had times where weight is lost at a specific area sometimes. Bodies are weird, what can you do...

Congrats on the jeans, I've seen you post your progress with them in the past - you must have been jumping up and down when you were able to get them on!!!

The two piece is brilliant and very flattering.

It's great that you share the swimsuit pics - it's motivating and also you'll be glad you did so you can compare later!

The ONLY way I lost weight - almost 10kgs so far and counting is by eating real, fresh food wherever possible. For me that was a salad with EVERY meal, fruit for snacks and then making fresh juices with my blender and juicer. Nothing else worked....

I've got my before and after pics here if you're interested. http://www.rawbrides.com/before-and-after.html

Good luck,
Denise

hi jenn. i have been following ur blog for months now and i must say u are a big INSPIRATION!!!!!!!

im the same height as u and i weigh about 200 pounds at the moment. i have been trying to loose weight for over 2 yrs but im stuck.

i just started atkins this weeks an so far things are going good.

the reason why i posted on this post is cuz in ur bikini pics, u dont seem to have any loose skin.
one of my fears is that i will have lots of loose skin after loosing alot of weight. (my goal is to loose 60lbs)

i was wondering if u cud give me some pointers/ tips that wud reduce saggy and loose skin as i struggle to she off the pounds
