Back and new hair.

Hi everyone!

So, I'm back home and still at 170-ish as of this morning.  But, I'm on my period, so I'm thinking I might actually be a bit lower than that. :)

I found low carb bread at the grocery store today... it's 5 grams of net carbs, and that makes me insanely happy.  I had a turkey sandwich today for the first time in a long time.  Mmmmm, good!  So... the only thing now is to still make sure I stay under my grams per day and I'll see if this being incorporated into my diet is going to make me stall or not.  I found this great website with tons of low carb bread products.  I hesitate because it's so ingrained in me to not eat bread-like products, but I really, REALLY miss bagels.  I want to order some.

So, in other news, I stuck to my diet 100% while I was in Denver.  Woo-hoo!

Also, got some red hair.  Now, it's not... exactly the color I wanted... but it's still pretty.

What I wanted:

What I have:

But, I think my hair stylist out there might have thought it'd be a really bold transition to go straight for the crazy red, so I'm going to ride this color out and then I'll switch to the bright red in a month or two. :)

Aside from that, I'm dealing with some family crap and some issues with a friend of mine, and I just am feeling stressed and annoyed with people.  If things seem few and far between here, I apologize.  I'm really going to make more of an effort to update my blog more.  I enjoy doing it and reading your blogs, and I think it'll make me feel better!

On a related note, I've started a new blog where I'll be recording my dreams.  They'll be 100% honest, and uncensored, so if you're interested in (or good at) dream interpretation, or you just want a voyeuristic look inside my sleeping brain, click here to check it out, and follow it! :)

SO, how have all y'all been?

~Jenn

  2. Hey Jenn,

Welcome back. I already told you on Facebook, but I really like your new hair color. I used to have mine BRIGHT red and I miss it - can;t wait to see it when you go all out. :)

Call, text, email, Facebook (whatever) if you need to talk. Sorry thinks are sucking lately.

Just know that I love you (like you secretly love carbs!)

So glad you stayed on your eating plan in Denver and I can't wait to see you soon!

  3. I miss bagels too, but even in low-carb form their a serious trigger food for me. I'll just sit down and eat the entire sack of them and want more! Oh, but a turkey sandwich sounds good ....

  7. I love the new hair; I agree with your stylist that you should transition into the bold red; I think it will look great on you once its all done. Super cute!

  8. I just went red-head too! Yay! Mine's a little closer to the picture; I had some brown mixed in with it to tone it down a bit. I love it. Welcome to the club!

  9. Your hair looks great! I love red hair; I've dyed it red several times over the years. All ranging from dark red to fire engine red. It's probably safe to start off slow to it; there were plenty of times I wish I would have transistioned slowly into some of the more extravagant colors!

  10. I don't know how you feel about home dye, but there's a good one called Intense Dark Red that I always used to love... It still isn't quite the bright red you want (love that color - by the way - if my office wouldn't flip, I would love to have my hair that color) but it's closer...

  14. Your hair looks awesome! Love it. Wish I had the nerve to go red. Sigh. Can't wait to see it when it's at the color you really want!

  15. The new color is beautiful!

A new blog for recording your dreams? That ought to be very interesting! Will you invite people to analyze it, too? Do you have recurring dreams?

I would be a complete bore with that one...I always forget my dreams a little while after I wake up...each blog post would be "Uh. I forgot my dream. Again."

Glad you are on the road back! I can't help but think of when you had the big craving for TCBY at the airport, and Mizfit asking if that was a good idea. (No judgement here - I fall off the wagon ALL THE TIME!) I'm just wondering if you would say that was a turning point, since you seemed so torn about having that yogurt?

Maybe I am a complete moron for asking that!!! I can just tell that you are "back" now - and very close to where you left off!!!

(Don't hate me for the yogurt question! - please?)

  16. Welcome back!

I think as long as you stay away from the simple white carbs you'll still be able to lose weight and eat bread.

    Love the hair!

  17. I like the color but I think I would have told the stylist to redo it the RIGHT color (the REAL red) cuz it would look SPECTACULAR on you! I can't wait to see it when/if you get that truly saturated red...either way, it looks like the red totally suits your skin tone! :)

  18. In order to get the bright red color you will have to lift color. You can't get it by putting color on your already existing color. So, you also have to take into account the damage involved with lifting color. Is it worth it? But, I love the new hair color!

  21. Low carb bread? I was just talking about this the other day how it seems like the "low carb" craze has seriously died down and I can't find many low carb products here in my area.

  24. Just remember that there is no such thing as stress, there are only stressful thoughts. Stressful thoughts only occur when there is a gap between how you want things to be and how they really are. If things were meant to be different, then they would be. But they're not.

Every time I feel "stressed" or unhappy about circumstances and events within my life I remind myself of that and immediately I feel better.

I have a dream journal too but mine are so lengthy and psychotic I often can't be bothered to write them out!

Good luck, I hope you start feeling stress free soon!
